Scroll down, and the bike climbs the mountain with you.

Mareau is a concept we built to show what a product website feels like when the product is the page. A real 3D bicycle turns as you scroll, the road gains altitude, and the numbers follow you to the top.

The climb

Recorded by scrolling the live site: the bike turns and the road climbs as you go.

How we made it

From the first conversation to the running product.

We sat with the people doing the work and wrote down how it runs today, and where it hurts.

Illustration drawn from the finished screen, so you can see the stages the project went through.

The story

Most bike sites show a photo and a spec table. We wanted you to feel the climb.

So the page is a ride. Scrolling takes you up a mountain road, from the lake to the top of the col, and the altitude counter climbs with you.

On the way the camera slides in close — the wheels, the chainring, the bars — and each stop explains one part in two sentences. At the top the bike stands in daylight, and the configurator changes paint, groupset and wheels while price, weight and delivery date follow every choice.

Scrolling is the story

The page moves one way — up the mountain — so nobody wonders where to go next.
